Back to Basics

Much as changed since I last posted.

My beautiful family of 3 continues to thrive in ways that I could never imagine. The kids and I truly have come to a comfortable routine with a new normal in place. There is a peace and joy that emanates from within my family that can only be from God.

I've recently finished reading and studying Ephesians and am currently reading through James. There are some days, after I've read, that I dig out the Bible study skills that I learned from NWC and really, truly explore what a passage says. There are other days, that I read, process, and just meditate on the reading... trying to understand its meaning to me and how I can grow from it. I am amazed daily by the amount of wisdom that God imparted to us, through the Bible. Its been helpful to be working through this with a fellow Christian who often imparts a separate point of view that challenges my thinking and increases my understanding. As much as I can study the Bible on my own, I've come to understand why God calls believers together to worship.

So, in my pursuit of trying to return to the basics of "simply" following God's teaching, reading the Bible, and journaling on a regular basis; I've been overwhelmed by what God is showing me. While there isn't any other place that I'd rather be, than in the Potter's Hands, I had forgotten how hard it is to be chiseled away at and molded to fit His image for me, rather than how I or the world view "me." Am I to be concerned about the way way the world views me? No, my job is to live my faith actively, showing Christ to all those that I interact with.
